Hey Heather. Welcome to zone.
don't feel bad Heather I never did a getting to know you post thingy either
Hi Heather,
Nice to meet you. I am totally blind, and have a soft bone disease called osteogenesis imperfecta, but I've gone in to it so many times, I won't go in to it here. When I was at a camp once, they had these work shop courses, and one of the courses was sign language. We only had 2 weeks at the camp, and my friend and I got started very late in the sign language class, but I was able to hold my own with after a little practice. I was just curious to know if a totally blind person could do it. It was a long time ago, and I've forgotten it all now.

wonderwomen, hell yea! blind peeps can learn to sign! i have a deaf blind friend and we communicate by TSL which is Tactile sigh language. its lots of fun!
thanks all for the warm welcome! you all make me wanna lala! lol
Yay I found that out heather. and after I got home from the camp, my home bound teacher told me I probably couldn't do it, because deaf people used a lot of facial expressions to express meaning, and I told her I had already done it. I had had a conversation at a mcdonalds with a deaf mute woman, and I was a bit slow, but after a bit, I was able to understand right much of what she said. After you learn the deaf alphabet, the signs are a lot like scrable and charades both rolled in to one.

Hey Heather, welcome to the zone! :) I love sports, too! :)
well, the few deaf people I talked to knew I was blind, so facial expressions just didn't enter in to it.
